Earth
Anne Kalsø was born in the Faroe Islands off Denmark in 1905. Her life was defined by a deep immersion in the study of yoga, and the fundamental belief that wellness principles needn't be reserved for just one aspect of an individual's life, but could be wholly integrated as part of an everyday existence.
Kalsø began selling her shoes from a modest storefront in Copenhagen. Those who discovered her shoes became passionate about their benefits. Many reported that the shoes helped ease chronic foot and body problems.
April 1st, 1970 would mark the much-heralded opening of the first United States distribution point for Kalsø's shoes. Coinciding with the first Earth Day, the name of the shoes - on the spot – was changed to "Kalsø Earth Shoes" and capitalized on the youthful movement and energy that defined the day. The trajectory of a wellness enterprise was underway. With much thanks and credit going to a Danish yoga instructor, a belief that wellness could be part of everyone's daily existence, and a simple shoe.

Hoka One One
Hoka One One (pronounced “O-nay, O-nay”) was started on a wild idea by Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard, who also formerly worked for Salomon as the head of its now-defunct design center in Boulder and later as its CEO. Originally, the intent was to make modern trail running shoes for the rugged mountain races in the Alps, Pyrenees and Dolomites. The widebody design concept was somewhat based on the oversized technology that had been successfully used in powder skis, mountain bike tires and tennis rackets. A bigger sweet spot, Mermoud suggested, would apply similarly in running. It's a difference you have to feel to believe.

Keen
From the sandal that started it all, the Keen line has expanded to footwear designed with the Pacific Northwest in mind: hiking boots, sandals, casual shoes, slip-resistant and even work shoes. Keen Hybrid.ology ensures superior fit, extra durability, unending comfort, and exceptional performance. Keen Sport Sandals put them at the top for athletic sport sandals. While tending to fit medium to wide, the expanded Keen collection has the ability to fit any foot comfortably. Durable Keen shoes are tough enough to take on anything the outdoors or the street can throw at you.

Merrell
The idea began with a hiking boot designed by Randy Merrell. He manufactured 500 pairs of boots, selling all 500! The hiking community took notice and it didn’t stop there. Merrell improved the “Approach Shoe”, now called light hikers, with classics like the Chameleon and Phaser. Merrell even created a new shoe category, “Aftersport”, when they introduced the classic Jungle Moc. These slip-ons featured the comfort technologies from performance footwear but in a more casual format. Many of the Merrell shoes use Vibram soles with innovative construction and compounds to stand up to wear and tear, helping you navigate any terrain. Most Merrell boots use Gore-Tex® waterproof technology that puts a breathable, water-resistant barrier between you and the elements. Whether you’re looking for stylish embellishments, a comfortable fit, supportive soles or ventilated materials, look for the wall that says Merrell at your nearest Sole Perfection Shoes.

Rockport
The Rockport story begins in 1971…
…in a small town in Massachusetts where a father-son team made an all too obvious observation that forever changed the landscape of comfort footwear. Why, they asked, aren’t there dress and casual shoes as comfortable as sneakers? With that and the know-how from the three generations of shoemakers who preceded them, they took the answer into their own hands, establishing The Rockport Company and introducing the first dress shoes with built-in sport technology.
Nearly 45 years later, their curiosity and commitment to innovation hasn’t wavered. Most recently, they entered a new chapter in their history, joining forces with Boston-based Drydock Footwear to form The Rockport Group. Today, The Rockport Group is home to Rockport, Cobb Hill, Aravon and Dunham, an impressive collection of men’s and women’s brands that offer customers only the best in fit, technology and comfort.

SAS
The story of the San Antonio Shoemakers™(SAS) family begins with its founders, Terry Armstrong and Lew Hayden. The two first met in Pittsfield, Maine, but their passion for making quality footwear led them to San Antonio, Texas. After working for a local shoe company, Terry and Lew struck out on their own.
Terry and Lew had a vision of how genuine leather shoes should be made. With determination, and the support of their families, the two pooled their resources to start their first factory in a corner of an unused aircraft hangar on the South Side of San Antonio. In 1976, San Antonio Shoemakers was born.
Today, we continue to handcraft our shoes from only the softest, highest quality leather. Just one pair of shoes may go through up to 100 different steps. There are 14 primary operations that take place in our factories like leather selection, die-making, cutting, lasting and more. Within those operations, approximately 80 different skilled pairs of hands are carefully constructing and inspecting each shoe to make sure the SAS shoes you choose are the best made pair of footwear in your closet.

Vionic
Vionic's mission began with the work of renowned podiatrist Phillip Vasyli. A pioneer and innovator in the field of lower-limb biomechanics, Vasyli treated thousands of patients, ranging from young children to amateur and professional athletes. Known by friends and colleagues as a "born healer," he had a genuine passion for making orthotic treatment more affordable and accessible to people in need of pain relief.
Early in his career, Vasyli realized that the only treatment options for many common foot-related ailments, like plantar fasciitis or over-pronation, were costly and time-consuming. In response to the overwhelming demand for a solution, he invented one of the first heat-moldable orthotics, a low-cost option that allowed patients to walk out of his practice feeling better than when they'd come in. This philosophy laid the groundwork for the award-winning Orthaheel orthotic, the world's first and only true orthotic available without a doctor's prescription.

ARCH SUPPORTS

Downunder
The most technically advanced off-the-shelf footbed; step by step creates a custom biomechanical foot support, like "Bucket Seats" for your feet. Through their design, the EVA stabilizer structure gradually adapts to the shape of the feet and shoes amid use to improve foot comfort, reducing foot/leg fatigue, and improving body balance. The deep heel cup is truly amazing. It molds for an exacting fit around the heel, positioning the heel's calcanus bone over a shock-absorbing heel bubble for increased shock absorption. The arches score great support too! When the foot's arches are compressed between the body's weight and the hard ground, the dynamic cradling chassis adapts, forming a deeper, more supportive foot cradle - like beach sand! Built with a Honey-Comb dual-density foam structure, DownUnders provide long lasting durability and comfortable performance. Effective for walking, running, racquet sports, skiing, and better foot comfort!
